My wife and I are the proud parents of a 2 nd grader and a 6 th grader. I have been a PTA member since 2010 and a PTA Executive Board Member since 2012. As someone who has spent nearly their entire career in higher education, I know the value of having a strong elementary and middle school foundation. My vision is that the PTA can play a greater role in contributing to the larger community of students having that foundation.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing and teaching tennis as well as participating in Toastmasters International.

I am mother to the sweetest 18 month old girl. I was inspired by other PTA members from BSES and other schools, and their ability and effectiveness to create change in the system.  I want the voices of our children to be heard loudly, and as parents to be equipped with the right stuff to help them succeed. I want our diverse school community to strive because of bilingualism and not be troubled by it. I will work very hard to bring to the school tools to embrace a second language. I’ve been blessed in being bilingual and I believe my child and your child should be this lucky too. I love to travel. As close as Washington DC, or as far as the other side of the world. I really enjoy sports, mainly volleyball, and when I can, watching an entire Netflix season (its been a while).

I am a first grade teacher at Brown Station ES. This will be my second year teaching at Brown Station, but my first year teaching first grade. I recently graduated from Penn State University with a Childhood and Early Adolescent degree.

I have always had a passion for working with children and I think a big part helping them succeed is making a connection with the families and the community. I joined the PTA in hopes to create stronger bonds with Brown Station families.

When I’m not working, I love to hike, do yoga, travel and craft.

I am a proud parent of a two kids who will be joining Brown Station Elementary in a couple of years. I joined the PTA because it takes a village to raise children to have strong character and become good citizens of our city, our state, our country and the world. It’s important for our community to come together and show our children that we care about their well-being. I also believe it is important to help one another as parents and teachers, to make sure we have a strong and vibrant school that we are proud to send our kids to every day.

My role is to use technology to help promote the amazing work that our PTA does every year for the Brown Station Elementary community. I truly believe our school provides our students a diverse community where they can learn as much from one another as they are learning from our teachers and parents. I work as an IT professional and feel truly rewarded when I can use my skills to support our neighborhood school.

In may spare time I love to go cycling around the DC area, explore museums with my kids, travel to new places, go to baseball games, football games and watch World Cup soccer!
